Shipley and Bingley Voluntary Services (SBVS) was formed in May 2008 with the merger of Bingley Voluntary Action and Shipley Council for Voluntary Services. SBVS is an independent voluntary organisation and registered charity, managed by a voluntary management committee.

Thank you to everyone who gave in the last round of Grow Your Tenner and thank you to all our volunteers who keep these services running – we couldn’t help hundreds of local people a year without you!

Grow Your Tenner match funding starts again on 13 October 2015.

From 13 October 2015, donations made to our charity on Localgiving will be matched!

We serve the community in the following ways:-

Support to local community & voluntary groups
Our primary role is to act as an infrastructure support organisation, supporting voluntary organisations across the Shipley Constituency. SBVS is one of the three councils for voluntary services (CVS) in the district. In this role we support groups in the following ways:-

Providing services of benefit to the local community
We provide a range of services for the local community, primarily in the Bingley area, including social day care, befriending, a wellbeing project and community transport.

Looking for space to hold a meeting in Bingley or run a community activity?

SBVS runs two community centres in Bingley town centre - Cardigan House and Little House. Both are available to hire daytime, evenings and weekends. We also manage Bingley Youth Cafe.  When not being used for open-access activities for young people aged 13 – 19 (11 – 25 with a disability), the Youth Cafe is available for hire.
