Shipley and Bingley Voluntary Services (SBVS) was formed in May 2008 with the merger of Bingley Voluntary Action and Shipley Council for Voluntary Services. SBVS is an independent voluntary organisation and registered charity, managed by a voluntary management committee.

From 10am on Tuesday 14 October donations made online to groups on will be match funded.
So if you donate £10, £21.54 will actually go to the charity – this includes £10 match funding plus Gift Aid tax relief.
Shipley and Bingley Voluntary Services need to replace our oldest bus. We are planning to buy a second hand bus which will cost us about £20,000. makes it really quick, easy and secure to set up a monthly gift, and also allow you to claim Gift Aid (if eligible), meaning an extra 25% to Shipley and Bingley Voluntary Services at no extra cost to you!

Support to local community & voluntary groups
Our primary role is to act as an infrastructure support organisation, supporting voluntary organisations across the Shipley Constituency. SBVS is one of the three councils for voluntary services (CVS) in the district. In this role we support groups in the following ways:-

Providing services of benefit to the local community
We provide a range of services for the local community, primarily in the Bingley area, including social day care, befriending, a wellbeing project and community transport.

Looking for space to hold a meeting in Bingley or run a community activity?

SBVS runs two community centres in Bingley town centre - Cardigan House and Little House. Both are available to hire daytime, evenings and weekends. We also manage Bingley Youth Cafe.  When not being used for open-access activities for young people aged 13 – 19 (11 – 25 with a disability), the Youth Cafe is available for hire.
